Special Materials–Banknote Scraps

ธนบัตรที่เสื่อมสภาพหรือถูกยกเลิกการใช้งานเป็นขยะที่มีปริมาณมากในแต่ละปี ในประเทศไทยเองมีธนบัตรที่ต้องถูกทำลายเป็นจำนวนมากในแต่ละปีเพื่อเปลี่ยนไปใช้ธนบัตรรุ่นใหม่ วัสดุเหล่านี้มักจะถูกเผาหรือทิ้งโดยไม่มีการใช้งานต่อ แต่บริษัท VIE Recycling and Beyond Co., Ltd ได้เสนอแนวทางในการนำเศษธนบัตรที่เสื่อมสภาพเหล่านี้มา รีไซเคิลเป็นส่วนผสมในคอนกรีต ส่งผลให้เกิดอิฐบล็อกช่องลมรุ่นพิเศษที่มีส่วนผสมของเศษธนบัตร แม้ว่าคุณสมบัติของอิฐบล็อกชนิดนี้จะไม่เหมาะสมกับงานโครงสร้างที่ต้องรับน้ำหนักมาก แต่ยังสามารถใช้งานในด้านการตกแต่งได้เป็นอย่างดี ด้วยการผสมผสานระหว่างความแข็งแรงและความเป็นเอกลักษณ์ในเนื้อคอนกรีต เศษธนบัตรที่เคยเป็นขยะจึงถูกนำกลับมาใช้อย่างมีคุณค่าอีกครั้ง

Old or obsolete banknotes that are no longer in circulation generate a significant amount of waste each year. In Thailand, large quantities of banknotes must be destroyed annually to make way for new currency. These old banknotes are often burned or discarded without further use. However, VIE Recycling and Beyond Co., Ltd. proposed a solution to recycle these banknote scraps by incorporating them into concrete. This has resulted in the development of a special series of ventilation blocks that incorporate banknote scraps into the mix. While these blocks are not suitable for heavy structural work, they perform exceptionally well in decorative applications. By combining strength with unique textures in the concrete, banknote scraps, once considered waste, are repurposed with meaningful value.
